After performances at Chapter Theatre, Cardiff, Carnegie House Bridgend and the National Assembly of Wales (supported by the Assembly’s Autism Group), Winterlight were invited to perform the play at the 2018 Autscape Conference in Tonbridge, Kent. Autscape is the UK’s only international conference organised entirely by and for autistic people, so the invitation was a real honour for us, especially as Quiet Hands was the first play ever to be performed at the conference.

The play was funded by Cardiff University’s School of English, Communication and Philosophy and by the Arts Council of Wales. We were also supported by the Wales Autism Research Centre at Cardiff University, who facilitated and secured Arts Council funding for the research and development of the script. Our performance at the Autscape Conference was funded by Autscape.
